San Diego

Jared is off to SERE school and I am left here to... hang out, I guess. San Diego hasn't been the most comfortable place I have ever been. The other night we rode the trolley to see a movie downtown. It was fine going there, but we got out of the movie right as the trolley was coming to take us home. We were 3 blocks away and ran to the trolley hoping to make it. We made it to the trolley, however when Jared pressed the button to open the doors it tooted the horn and off it went. Grrreat! 30 minutes of waiting in the cold - I think it was like 60 degrees, but my body temperature is 2 degrees lower than everyone else's (that's what I like to tell everyone as my explanation for being cold all the time). So we sit... and wait... when all of a sudden a cop pulls up onto the sidewalk. He gets out of his car and walks over to a man, asks for ID, and pulls out his flashlight. He tells the man to look into the light, then asks him to open his mouth and stick out his tongue. This is when it gets good, the cop then asks the man when the last time he used heroine was and if he was looking for heroine. The man replies, 3 days ago and I am always looking for heroine!!!!! WHAT??!?!?! The cop lets him go with a warning because he felt like he was telling the truth. Jared looks over at me and says, next time we can take the car... and at least you have something to write about in your blog now. HAHHAHA! Scary place, huh?

Yesterday I ventured out to by some dresses for the upcoming events we have to attend once we get to Whidbey. We have a Dining Out to attend, as well as a Change of Command... maybe I have to go, maybe not. I don't really know what is mandatory for me, but Jared says it's all about what they think of you in the ward room. We are going to be to best party attenders ever! Hahaha. So let me tell you about the dresses. The cocktail dress is navy blue and has a rouched cumberbun (spelling?) like band around the middle and is v-cut in the front. I also got a really cute A-line spring dress with cap sleeves that is a spring green color. I have to have the cap sleeves shortened because right now they are too long. Maybe my next adventure will be getting shoes to go with the dresses... if only I had fashion sense and knew what matched or what would look good. Hmmm, that might be a challenge.

Well... that's all I have for now! Oh... we will be having our belongings delivered to our new house on the 26th. So we will have our stuff and won't have to wait forever. Cross our fingers for not too many broken things.
